I wanted to introduce you to myself, I’ve been in the media industry for the past five years and have loved every minute.

I have been on both the journalism end going to crime scenes, talking to elite high-profile British Columbia professionals, attending municipal meetings, using my research skills to look deeper into stories and helped raise awareness and funds for much-needed community members. My articles have been seen in print and online throughout North America.

However my career path has now taken me to the other side…some may say the dark side of journalism…public relations. I have been working in the field for the two year’s working for a video marketing company and an online deal site and market them to their ideal clients using traditional and new public relation efforts. However, I felt as though it was my time to come back to my roots in B.C. and quickly found myself in the fast paced public relations world in Vancouver.

I worked for an eco lifestyle public relations firm where I was quickly thrown into pitching, event preparation, sponsorship, executing runway shows, inviting appropriate media, reaching out for celebrity gifting and wardrobing. I was given an amazing opportunity to run the Vancouver section of this eco PR firm and I single handedly raised the profile of our B.C. based clients on to an international level. One client was able to open her flagship store, while another client’s renovated home was seen in more than 20 magazines internationally to getting sponsorship opportunities and creating an internationally known Yogi. I had learned my fair share of the ups and downs of the media world and wanted to branch off on my own.

Social Mod PR was born, I aim to raise awareness for purpose driven companies by stimulating everyday conversations. For more information on my company check out the website www.socialmodpr.com
